Assorted Steel Wool

Assorted Steel Wool includes Fine Grade #000, Medium Grade #00, and Course Grade #0 for all of your cleaning and surface preparation needs.

Course #0 – For stripping rough or built-up surfaces or wood fiber spurs.

Medium #00 – For Removing surface imperfections. Ideal for antique furniture and cleaning metal/rust.

Fine #000 – For creating a finished surface to stain, paint or apply other coatings. Ideal for high luster polishing of chrome, copper and brass.

For best results: Use the guide above to decide which grade is right for your project.

Use a sequence of grades: Always start with a course grade and progress through to medium or fine grade.

Always sand in the direction of the grain: use long smooth strokes. Working across the grain will scratch the surface.

Use a BRIWAX Ultra-Magic Microfiber Cloth to remove all dust before finishing.

Special Precautions:

Pre 1960’s paints may contain harmful lead.

Always use a dust mask, safety goggles and gloves.

Work in a well-ventilated area especially if using any type of chemical with steel wool sanding.
